You will see a few changes in store, but we are able to offer the usual Shop services; dive equipment for purchase, and for hire, air fills, nitrox fills and dive kit servicing.
Please take time to read our new COVID-19 Safety statement, this tells you how we will be working going forward during these times.
If you are bringing your tanks to us to fill, please leave them by the back door of the shop, then come in via the front door. As you may understand we are limiting access to more areas of the shop to ensure everyones safety.
Stay Safe.
See you all soon

OCEAN VIEW COVID-19 SAFETY STATEMENT – June 2020
At Ocean View we care about all of our staff and our customers safety, not just in these difficult COVID-19 times but at all times. Diver safety has always been our number one consideration when conducting courses, therefore we are already in a great position to transition this to your safety in the shop. To ensure the ongoing safety of our staff, students and customers we have put in place some revised working practices. Going forward some of the ways we have previously interacted will be changing to make sure we are putting your safety and our staffs safety first.
THE SHOP
Five Steps to Working Safely – The Government have put together a simple check list for retail businesses to follow, in accordance with these steps, below is a brief outline of what has been done to achieve this.
1. Ocean View has carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and shared the results with staff.
2. Ocean View have cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance.
3. Working from home is not possible in our business.
4. Ocean View have measures in place to allow everyone to maintain a 2m distance in the workplace as much as possible.
5. Where people cannot be 2m apart, we have measures in place to manage transmission risk.
WE ARE TAKING THIS VERY SERIOUSLY, FOR US TO HELP YOU, YOU MUST ALSO HELP US. WHEN VISITING THE DIVE CENTRE PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Please follow standard social distancing measures whilst in the shop that we have all now become accustomed to. Respect not only our staff’s personal space but also that of other customers.
Observe ALL staff only areas, use the main front shop door only. Please limit the number of people visiting the centre, if you have family with you that don’t need to be in the shop, please kindly leave them in the car, don’t forget to leave a window open. If you prefer to wait outside if you think it’s too busy, just let us know, we are happy to help.
LIMIT TIME IN THE CENTRE / AIR FILLS
In normal times, we like nothing more than to stand and chat with all of our customers, however in these unprecedented times please can we ask that you come in, purchase what you need and leave. This does not mean that the staff will not be polite, helpful and answer any queries that you may have. Please help us to help everyone to be served in a timely manner. If you just require an air fill, please make way for others whilst you are waiting.
FACE MASKS / COVERINGS
If you need to cough or sneeze please cover your mouth, use of a face mask will assist with this greatly. When it feels necessary, or the standard social distancing cannot be adhered to, the staff will wear masks to help with transmission reduction.
USE HAND SANITISER
Please use sanitiser upon entering the shop, and after leaving for your personal safety. There are bottles around the shop. The shiny dive gear is always enticing to pick up and look at, please resist doing this unnecessarily at these unusual times.
EQUIPMENT
We know that some dive kit needs to be tried on from time to time, please restrict this to essential items. Sanitise hands before trying on masks, and hand the masks back to us after you have tried them on for sanitising, other items will be isolated once tried on.
